About Us
Wildland Fire Hydrants was born from real-world wildfire response challenges and a simple but powerful question — how can firefighters access water faster when every second matters?
In 2018, founder Lenny Lemmond began working as an Emergency Equipment Rental Agreement (EERA) vendor supplying overhead fill towers in the Pacific Northwest. During his first resposne to a major incident in the southern Oregon, he witnessed During his first call-out to a major incident in southern Oregon, he witnessed long lines of water tenders waiting to fill. Despite achieving 6–8 fills per hour, the delays highlighted a critical gap in wildfire response infrastructure. That experience sparked the idea for a more efficient, scalable water delivery system designed specifically for wildland firefighting environments.
Over the following years, the concept evolved into the Wildland Fire Hydrants Plug & Pump system — a flexible, expandable solution capable of dramatically reducing fill times and improving operational efficiency. Field demonstrations later proved the concept could significantly reduce bottlenecks and increase the effectiveness of firefighting resources during active incidents.
Today, Wildland Fire Hydrants continues to refine and deploy innovative water-handling systems that help firefighters respond faster, operate more efficiently, and better protect communities and natural landscapes.
Our Mission
We are committed to:
- Reducing water tender and engine fill times
- Eliminating bottlenecks at drafting locations
- Expanding access to water in remote wildland environments
- Supporting rapid, coordinated firefighting response
- Strengthening community resilience in wildfire-prone regions
Our Team
Wildland Fire Hydrants is built by professionals who understand wildfire operations from the ground up. Our team consists of experienced operators, equipment specialists, and support personnel dedicated to improving firefighting efficiency in challenging environments.
Led by founder and owner Lenny Lemmond, the team brings hands-on field experience, technical expertise, and a shared commitment to innovation. Each deployment is supported by trained crew members who configure and operate scalable pumping systems tailored to incident requirements.
We work closely with fire agencies, incident management teams, and emergency responders to ensure our systems integrate seamlessly into real-world operations. Our collaborative approach allows us to adapt quickly, deploy efficiently, and deliver reliable performance under demanding conditions.
